Tyson Fury in trouble- again!

By Rene Otinga

Tyson Fury has been summoned by the British Boxing Board of Control to explain his recent controversial comments.
World heavyweight champion Fury, 27, who expressed views on women, abortion and homosexuality, has been asked to attend a meeting in the new year.
The BBBofC met to discuss the matter on Wednesday before informing Fury that he must meet with the board.
The Briton has denied being a homophobe and claimed he is "uniting the world".
No exact date has been confirmed for the meeting.
Tyson fury is being investigated for a hate crime  following comments he made about homosexuality on a popular BBC programme, 'Victoria Derbyshire programme.'
Tyson has also been quoted as saying a woman's "best place is on her back".
He subsequently said: "Tyson Fury loves his fellow humans. He doesn't hate anybody."
Fellow BBC Sports Personality of the Year nominee and long jump champion Greg Rutherford had planned to withdraw from this year's event over Fury's comments before going back again on the decision.

Fury, who has a number of titles under his name, was stripped off the IBF belt on Tuesday after choosing to face Klitschko in a rematch instead of the IBF's mandatory challenger, Ukrainian Vyacheslav Glazkov.

CHELSEA 2-0 FC PORTO IN PICTURES

By Rene Otinga.

Chelsea disregarded their domestic woes by going top of their Champion's League with a convincing win against FC Porto on Wednesday night.
Willian celebrates his second goal for Chelsea

The Blues who have been under fire regarding their form proved their European credentials by instilling a similar defeat on their bitter rivals FC Porto, who they went down against in the reverse fixture earlier this season.

Out of sorts striker Diego Costa orchestrated an owl goal before Willian wrapped up the win with a goal of his own, condeming the Portuguese champions to the 'not so favored' Europa League.
Diego Costa was in good form against FC Porto on Wednesday night.

Mourinho will be particularly pleased with the result as it sees some of the piled pressure lifted off him.

Chelsea top their group and will be happy to be drawn by one of the sides that finished in second place in their respective groups as the last 16 await the draw on Monday.

As the Chelsea fans cheered their team on, there was still a sense of uncertainty as to whether they would be able to reciprocate their European form domestically.
Mourinho responds to Porto fans chanting his name.

Mourinho had  a bittersweet reunion with a club he guided to the UEFA champions League trophy back in 2004.
There was a brief moment where Porto fans were chanting his name, perhaps cynically, but Mourinho was adamant.

Chelsea face a tough test this weekend in the Premier League as they face the in-form Leicester City who have been a surprsise package in the Premier League so far.

PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA'S TOUR OF KENYA

By Alton Acholla
This week Kenyans on social media have ridiculed the president on the numerous number of trips he is making to other foreign countries #UhuruWorldTour. Many observed that the president was spending more time outside than in his own country.Reports showed that the current president had gone to 43 trips ten more than Mwai Kibaki in his ten years as president. The pres8idenbt added to his already impressive tally when he travelled to Rwanda yesterday.

What was of concern was the many delegation that always accompany the Head of State. Many argued that while the trips may be of economic and diplomatic importance, the large number of delegation was causing taxpayers billions.

The President however, through his spokesperson Manoah Esipisu defended his great air millage when he listed the various deals that have been accrued from such trips while also terming the large delegation as unavoidable
.
President Kenyatta,  Deputy President William Ruto and their delegations spent Sh2.1 billion on travel and hospitality in the financial year ending in June, which is 75 per cent higher than the figures for a similar period last year. Such resources ,according to many, could have been directed elsewhere.Other citizens simply stated that they miss their President's presence in the country.

Putin says he 'hopes' nuclear warheads will never be needed against Isis... or anyone else , Lisa Nabwana

Vladimir Putin has said he hopes nuclear warheads will not be needed to deal with terrorists or anyone else, after Russia launched cruise missiles from its submarine at Syria. During a meeting in the Kremlin, Russia’s Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu told the President that Kalibr cruise missiles had been fired by the submerged Rostov-on-Don submarine from the Mediterranean Sea for the first time. He said TU-22 bombers also took part in the latest raids and that "significant damage" had been done to a munitions depot, a factory manufacturing mortar rounds and oil facilities. Two major targets in Raqqa, the defacto capital of Isis, had been hit, said Mr Shoigu. Global stocks slip towards two-month lows, dollar steadies, billwydad wangai

A fourth straight day of falls nudged stocks towards two-month lows on Thursday, as ricocheting commodity prices, a jumpy dollar and an extra helping of emerging market uncertainty made for a jittery global mood. Oil prices, whose sharp decline has been a big driver of recent volatility, were fighting for their first rise of the week, but with so much else tumbling the so-called global "fear" gauge, the VIX .VIX, climbed to its highest in almost a month. European shares .FTEU3 teetered on the brink of a third day of losses and it was touch and go whether Wall Street would make it a fourth day in a row as S&P 500 ESc1 and Dow 1YMc1 futures prices faded back to almost flat. [.N] The dollar .DXY edged higher as traders, eyeing next week's expected increase in U.S. interest rates, took advantage of its dip over the last month. [FRX/] That in turn took the wind out of the resurgent euro's EUR= sails, while the Swiss franc EURCHF= rose to a one-week high against the euro after the Swiss National Bank steered clear of any changes in its already deeply negative rates. "In general there is some excitement on where to position ahead of the Fed's meeting," Rabobank strategist Philip Marey said. "We also have crude prices which are doing some pretty amazing things at the moment and which are having an impact on the inflation outlook again."

Tobacco firms challenge plain packaging rule,Billwydad Wangai

Four of the world's biggest tobacco firms have begun a legal challenge to the government's new packaging rules.
The regulations will ban companies from using any logos or branding on packets of tobacco products from May 2016.
Philip Morris International, British American Tobacco, Imperial Tobacco and Japan Tobacco International say it will unlawfully take away their trademark intellectual property.
The government argues the measure will discourage more people from smoking.
Under the new "standardised packaging" regulations, any part of tobacco packaging not covered by the health warning carried on it must be a dark brown or green colour.
Brand names must be in small, non-distinctive lettering.
The four major tobacco companies argue the regulations will destroy their highly valuable property rights and render products indistinguishable from each other.
Opening the case for the claimants, Japan Tobacco International's barrister, David Anderson QC, told the High Court the companies "manufacture lawful products" used by 19% of the adult population.
He said their sales contributed approximately £10bn in excise duty alone to the Exchequer.
The companies, added Mr Anderson, accepted it was "common ground that smoking is the cause of serious diseases" but were "entitled to know if the regulations [on plain packaging] were lawful".

'Robust defence'

The companies claim the regulations violate a number of UK and EU laws and that data from Australia, which brought in plain packaging in 2012, fails to prove such a move reduces smoking rates.
The Department of Health is fighting the challenge.
It says the change is an important public health measure aimed at discouraging children from smoking and helping smokers to quit.
"Smoking is catastrophic for your health and kills over 100,000 people every year in the UK, with the burden of disease falling most heavily on poorer communities," a spokesman said.
The government would "robustly" defend the policy, and had powerful arguments in its favour, he added.
The department cited an independent review by Sir Cyril Chantler in 2014, which concluded that it was "highly likely" that standardised packaging would reduce the rate of children taking up smoking, and "implausible" that it would increase tobacco consumption.
THE WEEKEND SUED FOR COPYRIGHT CHARGES by Adler Edwina

R&B hitmaker The Weeknd is named in a copyright lawsuit over his top charting song, "The Hills," according to documents by The Hollywood Reporter.
London-based Cutting Edge Music filed the lawsuit Wednesday in Los Angeles alleging that the song features a score from a lesser-known indie film titled, "The Machine."
The company is suing The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, along with his producers and music giants Universal, Warner Chappell, Sony/ATV and others.
Co-defendant Emmanuel (Mano) Nickerson, a music producer who worked on "The Hills," allegedly sent a direct Twitter message to Cutting Edge stating, "I sampled your music might make it 2 the weeknd next album."
"The Hills" was released in May as the second single from his album, "Beauty Behind the Madness."
This isn't the first time the 25-year-old singer has been accused of stealing sounds.
In May, he was accused by Portishead of using a sample of "Machine Gun" in his track "Belong to the World." Geoff Barrow, a member of the group, said The Weeknd claimed he didn't use a sample while in fact, he'd written the band a letter asking to sample from the song. Barrow posted the letter on his Twitter account.
Anyway this has been a good year for this hit maker with song across all charts.
He received seven Grammy nominations for “Beauty Behind the Madness.”

Auto Makers Losing Battle for Dashboard Apps Hyundai gives up building its own software; CarPlay, Android Auto gain new support, Billwydad Wangai

After several years of building its own software to connect mobile apps in its cars, Hyundai Motor Co. is throwing in the towel, becoming the first global auto maker to embrace software from potential rivals Apple Inc. and Alphabet Inc. ’s Google. It may not be the last, according to drivers and industry researchers. New car buyers are asking for vehicles that have Apple’s CarPlay and Alphabet’s Android Auto, which control the dashboard displays now providing drivers with information and entertainment—and perhaps future revenue from purchases. CarPlay and Android Auto only recently have been installed by auto makers, but could be in 80% of new cars sold by 2022, says researcher IHS. Autotrader.com, an auto website, says 44% of its customers surveyed would pay $1,499 more to get a car with CarPlay or Android Auto. Tyler Theilken, 24 years old, of Springfield, Ill., recently installed Apple’s CarPlay in his Jeep Wrangler using an aftermarket Alpine Electronics Inc. system. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV, which owns the Jeep brand, offers its own rival “UConnect” system, and Mr. Theilken has used Ford Motor Co. ’s rival Sync system.

NICKI MINAJ GETS AN ENGAGEMENT RING FROM MEEK MILL by Adler Edwina

The pair first sparked engagement rumors earlier this year when Nicki posted a picture of a heart shaped diamond ring on social media - but it looks like Meek Mill has forked out on a second gem for the love of his life.
Back in April the rapper and her man Meek Mill first sparked engagement rumors after she flashed a stunning white and yellow heart brilliant cut diamond mounted in platinum.
But it looks like Meek Mill has decided to upgrade - and Nicki is understandably thrilled.
The star, 33, posted two shots of the huge square cut diamond on Instagram on Wednesday evening.
Next to the first, she gushed: "Now this is what I'm talking about baby. Love u @meekmill.”

Seconds later she followed it up with another picture of a perfectly manicured hand and of course the extravagant bling.
“This stone is flawless," she captioned it.
The pair first started dating after Nicki split from long-term love Safaree Samuels in late 2014, but only went public with their romance in early 2015.
Just months later rumors were circulating that Meek had already proposed after Nicki teased pictures of her heart shaped ring.
Meanwhile, over the summer, rapper Meek was forced to deny rumors his other half was pregnant, but admitted he wished she was.
Speaking to Eminem's online radio station Shade 45, he said: "Nicki ain't pregnant. But yeah, I wish... I already tweeted that five years ago, so it should be happening later. Sooner or later, when we ready for that.”
Congratulations!

FOOTBALL:Klopp seeks solution to Sturridge woes by John Green

Daniel Sturridge in EPL action
Liverpool need to tailor injury-prone striker Daniel Sturridge's rehabilitation process after his latest injury setback to try and keep him fit for what remains of the season, manager Jurgen Klopp has said.

Sturridge will miss Thursday night's trip to Sion in the Europa League after picking up a hamstring injury when he came on in the second half of Liverpool's 2-0 defeat at Newcastle United on Sunday.

He has managed about 110 minutes of competitive football in the 12 games since Klopp took charge at Anfield, starting only one.

"It's a hamstring and it's not easy to say when he can be back for us," Klopp told journalists at his pre-match news conference.

Klopp appeared to criticise the forward a few weeks ago when he said Sturridge needed to differentiate between 'pain and serious pain', but pointed to the lack of a proper pre-season as a factor in his frequent breakdowns.

The England international, who managed just 12 Premier League appearances last season, missed pre-season after undergoing hip surgery, and his return to action this campaign was stalled by a knee injury in October.

"There are two different things we have to look at – the one thing is the injury and the other is how we can bring him into a shape that is not so intensive for him, so he needs to train," Klopp said.

"The good thing with the muscle injury is that early (on) he can start to run and to train – not football but all the other things he needs.

"If you look at his history in the last month and year it's not the longest time he could train.

"Now we have to build up his resistance. It is like it is. We have to help him be more resistant for all the games we have," the German added.

Sturridge will be missing against Sion, but influential midfielder Philippe Coutinho is back in the squad for the first time since injuring his hamstring against Manchester City on November 21.

Mudavadi dismisses Eurobond inquiry

Irene Ngina

Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi has dismissed investigations into the use of proceeds from the Eurobond. He says only a special audit would reveal how the billions of shillings were used.He said the investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) would not unearth the truth behind the use of Sh250 billion.
“Interventions by DCI and EACC will not unravel the corruption but act as a cover-up. The right office to investigate the illegal dealings is the Auditor-General who should carry out a special audit,” said the former Finance minister. He described the way the National Treasury handled the Eurobond funds as “fraudulent”.
Mr Mudavadi said: “The Jubilee administration should tell Kenyans how the money was used without covering up. The National Treasury broke procedures of borrowing and handling of the money.”
“As a former Finance minister, I can tell you proceeds from external borrowing are regulated by strict procedures. Treasury undermined all of them in what appears to be deliberate obfuscation to circumvent accountability. All monies must be deposited in the consolidated fund first before any disbursement. The alleged offshore payments were irregular,” he said.
The government  is under pressure to explain how  proceeds from the Sh179 billion ($2 billion) and the tap sale of $750,000 (Sh66 billion by last year’s exchange rate) were used.
