Injury concern for Man Utd

Martial needed crutches to leave Wembley

Wayne Rooney has expressed his concern after seeing Anthony Martial leave Wembley on crutches.
Martial is a doubt for Manchester United’s game against Watford on Saturday after sustaining an ankle injury in England’s 2-0 win against France on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old striker was left in pain following a tackle from Tottenham’s Dele Alli and had to be substituted after 67 minutes.
His left foot was in bandages as he made his way onto France’s team bus after the match.
It potentially leaves Louis van Gaal short of striking options for the trip to Watford and Rooney said: “From a personal point of view, and from Manchester United’s point-of-view, I hope he is okay.
“I will try to ring him.”
Martial will be assessed by United’s own doctors at Carrington as Van Gaal’s squad meet up following the international break.

France coach Didier Deschamps allayed fears that the teenager had sustained a serious damage, saying: “He was in quite a bit of pain after the match. He got a kick in the penalty area.
“I think it’s just a knock rather than anything else to the top of his foot.”
