Jose Mourinho : Only Tom Cruise can win the league for Chelsea.

By Rene Otinga

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho remained skeptical about the team's chances of winning the Premier League this season, terming their current predicament as "mission impossible".

Mourinho was speaking at the back of a 1-0 home victory against Norwich City that eased some pressure on the manager but are still 15th in the table.

"Fourth position for me is not an impossible mission. If you ask me about winning the the title, I would say impossible mission," said Mourinho.

"Maybe Tom Cruise can do it but it's complicated."

Chelsea are 12 points adrift of fourth-placed Arsenal after 13 matches this season.
In the past five seasons, the teams finishing in fourth place - the final qualifying position for a place in the Champions League - have recorded an average of 72 points.

For Chelsea to reach that mark, they would need a further 58 points - or 19 wins and a draw from their remaining 25 matches.

Despite the club’s domestic woes, Chelsea are in pole position for qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages after their hard earned victory against Dinamo Kiev.

A tough test awaits Chelsea as they travel to Israel in midweek to face Maccabi Tel Aviv

DHL WARNS OF CUSTOMS IN ONLINE SHOPPING, Billwydad Wangai
The global parcels delivery firm has urged Kenyans to beware of customs charges on items purchased from international online stores ahead of the festive Christmas season.
DHL Express Sub Saharan Africa Vice President Oliver Facey, said while people had embraced e-commerce due to its convenience and huge discounts, many risked incurring additional expenses to clear the items from customs.
The charges, he said, also applied to gifts received at its clearing house at the airport from international locations.
“Do not be caught off-guard when your purchases or gifts are withheld as all shipments entering a country are cleared through customs which then decides on which gift or purchase should be exempted,” he said.
He said that online shoppers should consult the revenue office before importing anything so as to know the amount of fee charged pegged on an item’s purchase price.
Mr Facey added that some parcels originating from certain countries were often inspected by customs officials to mitigate a wide range of risks which eventually led to delays and additional costs.
“Online shopping offers convenience and in many instances cost savings but this can best be enjoyed when consumers understand their local regulations,” he said.

SOCIAL MEDIA PRESSURE LED TO WAIGURUS RESIGNATION

Ms Anne Waiguru resigned as Cabinet Secretary to protect her children from social media, according to her staff.
Publication of her family’s photos on social media platforms was the last straw that led her to ask the President to relieve her of her duties as the CS for Devolution and Planning, according to ministry staff who asked not to be named because they are not authorised to speak on her behalf.
Ms Waiguru, perhaps the most powerful CS in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government, has been under pressure from the Opposition and a section of Jubilee MPs who warned her that her continued stay in the Cabinet was jeopardising the coalition’s re-election chances in 2017.
Pictures of her family started getting into social media and she decided it was too much. She could no longer handle the threat that it posed to her family.
One of the photos showed her son driving an expensive car — which he has since denied owning.
NYS lost Sh791 million to fraud and another Sh695 million was almost gone when Ms Waiguru call in the police to investigate.

THREE MORE DIE AS RAIN WREAK HAVOC

Three more people died at the weekend while thousands were displaced as heavy rains continued to pound parts of the country.
In Busia, two people drowned and two others escaped death narrowly after a boat capsized in River Sio.
According to a witness, the boat passengers were crossing the swollen river when it overturned midstream.

A three-year-old girl was among the survivors rescued during the Saturday afternoon incident.
A resident Charles Juma appealed to the county government to build a bridge linking Matayos and Nambale.
In Narok, another person was killed by a mudslide on Sunday.
The afternoon incident occurred 300 metres from where a family of five died after their house was buried in a mudslide as they slept at Enenkishomi in Narok South Sub-County.
The 16-year- old girl was sheltering in a house when mudslides occurred during an afternoon downpour.
Oleshapani Chief John Seur said two other teenage girls who were with the victim were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The body was taken to Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary.
The chief said despite warnings, locals are hesitant to move to higher ground.
The number of people killed in Narok has risen to 10 this month. Governor Samuel Tunai gave the affected families Sh300,000 each.

SHOLLEI TO FACE MORE GRAFT CHARGES

The troubles facing former Judiciary Chief Registrar Gladys Shollei appear to be far from over, after the anti-corruption watchdog recommended that she be charged, for the second time, over corruption.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has confirmed for prosecution a second case against the former Judiciary boss, who fatheced several accusations over corruption at the time of her sacking.

According to files, EACC Chief Executive Officer Halakhe Waqo has forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) recommendations that Ms Shollei and seven of her former colleagues at the Judicial Service Commission face charges over alleged irregular payment of Sh46 million for construction of a court, whose work did not take off.
The payment was made to M/s Timsales, a construction company, for the Mavoko law courts.
But the contractor appeared to have left the site, despite having received full payment from Ms Shollei, on behalf of the Judiciary.
The file against the former judiciary boss was one of the three of high profile individuals Mr Waqo forwarded to DPP Keriako Tobiko at the weekend, recommending their prosecution over corruption and abuse of office.

SEVEN CHARGED OVER MUCHAI MURDER

The State has lined up four key prosecution witnesses in a case in which seven suspects face trial for the murder of former Kabete MP George Muchai.
Mr Muchai, his two bodyguards and driver were killed aides in Nairobi early this year.
The witnesses include two sisters who were carjacked shortly before the killings and who are “eyewitnesses” in the prosecution’s list.
Another witness is a taxi driver who was called after the fatal shooting and who was “warned not to disclose what he had seen or heard or else he would be killed in the next two days.”
The prosecution also has an “unnamed” witness” who was in contact with the accused persons and who revealed that while in their company, they warned him against mentioning what he had seen and heard and if he did so they would kill him.”
The suspects face two different capital offences before two courts in Nairobi arising out of the gangland style killing of the trade unionist-cum-politician.
