Machakos county government staffs are this morning
set to be grilled by the Ethics and Anticorruption Commission as part of
efforts to identify any unexplained wealth. Lead by Machakos Governor Alfred
Mutua, who earlier on provided his bank
account details, record of assets and wealth to the EACC, ministers, chiefs,
officers, directors and their deputies and all their senior government officers
are now expected to follow suit.
Mutual says the exercise is in a bid to end
corruption patch in his government. The governor has already suspended two
ministers and several county government officials over corruption.
